Tia Forbes has worked in the media and communications industry for over twenty years. She divides her time between two passions: education and entertainment.
Forbes relocated from Los Angeles to Atlanta with entrepreneurship and education in mind. Shortly after receiving her MBA in marketing and strategic management, she accepted a position at CNN Worldwide as an original series development associate. In that role she was responsible for liaising, creating new shows and recruiting on-air talent for the global network.
For the past six years, she has focused her skills on emotional intelligence and media training. She started The Knack Brand, a boutique professional development venture that assists young entrepreneurs in developing the skills they need to succeed.
Seeking higher understanding of how adults learn, she matriculated to Georgia State, where she is a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Education and Human Development’s Learning Sciences Department.
Utilizing her experience in executive board rooms and television development to create more aware and media savvy entrepreneurs; she focuses on entrepreneurial minded learners in the university entrepreneurial / business ecosystem. Forbes teaches Business Communications and Professional Development in the Robinson College of Business. She is a SREB Fellow with an intended graduation date for Fall 2023.
