Application Deadlines

Domestic Applicants
We offer various application deadlines to U.S. residents. By applying earlier in the cycle, you will receive priority consideration for a graduate assistantship. After the final deadline, applications are accepted on a rolling basis until one week before class starts.

International Applicants
International applicants who need a student visa must apply by an earlier, hard deadline.

Site visits are available to all students, and are subject to change. These are past examples.

Global Supply Chain and Logistics
Visit Carter's distribution center in Braselton, Georgia, and Port of Savannah or observe behind-the-scenes operations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Visit Curiosity Lab, an entrepreneurial support organization in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and Savannah Bee Company, a Georgia-based brand that expanded internationally while staying true to its entrepreneurial roots.

Global Management Consultancy
Travel to Chattanooga, Tennessee, to tour Kordsa, a global manufacturing plant that develops reinforcement technologies for the tires of automobiles, airplanes and motorcycles, as well as agricultural and industrial vehicles. Visit Mitsubishi Power, a power plant equipment supplier in Pooler, Georgia.

Hands-on assignments such as the following:

  • Work with executives from companies looking to go global or to expand their international footprint.
  • Conduct a country risk assessment and quantify opportunities in emerging markets.
  • Collaborate on team projects regarding real business challenges and strategies.
  • Examine live industry/company case analyses.
  • Prepare a consultancy report on a global business issue.

Join the World Affairs Council of Atlanta

As a Master of International Business student, you will receive free membership to the World Affairs Council of Atlanta, an organization providing a forum for informed discussion of the global affairs that impact Metro Atlanta as well as support for the city’s transformation into an international economic hub.

Engage with and learn from a Master of International Business alum, who will meet with you in-person or virtually to guide you through the process of developing career readiness and soft skills.

Program Highlights

Sustainability and Responsible Decision-Making

Sustainability and responsible decision-making is a major theme throughout the program. We offer training on this topic in collaboration with Greenhouse Accelerator, an organization that supports entrepreneurs in early-stage green/clean technology startups. Throughout the program, you will review examples of sustainable corporate practices as well as tools and resources, with emphasis placed on measuring success. Leading sustainability professionals from the likes of Chick-fil-A, The Coca-Cola Company, Delta Air Lines, Rollins, Siemens, and others visit the classroom to share experiences and speak on issues they encounter on a daily basis.

Learn from the Best

You will study with faculty who bring a mix of industry expertise, executive experience, and research excellence; many serve on editorial boards for and publish in major industry journals. Program faculty have won awards regionally and internationally for research, teaching innovation, and global engagement.

Earn a Data Certificate

Through Georgia State’s library, you will earn a data certificate. You will explore data analysis tools including Stata, SAS, R, and Python; study methods for data analysis and collection; and cover data visualization and mapping methods like Tableau and Social Explorer. As part of the #DataInTheATL speaker series, you will hear from Atlanta-based industry professionals about the data science field.

Cover the Basics Before Class Starts

If you do not have a business background, you can quickly build knowledge of key business concepts before class begins. Through a one-week-long module, you can progress through self-guided resources at your own pace. For students with non-business academic backgrounds or those who need a refresher: the program requires students to complete relevant online Harvard Business School courses, which cover topics such as financial accounting and fundamentals of economics. Information regarding these courses is provided upon enrollment.
