Risk Management & Insurance, B.B.A.

For help with the admissions process, contact your admissions counselor.

Risk management is the critical piece that enables businesses to function, leap over hurdles, and adeptly handle roadblocks. Organizations that don’t effectively predict and mitigate risks face the possibility of unrecoverable financial setbacks and, ultimately, total failure. They’re basically like skydivers without parachutes.

Risk management professionals are extremely well-paid, heavily recruited, and oftentimes the coolest people in meetings and boardrooms. Robinson is the perfect place for you to pursue an undergraduate degree in risk: we prepare students from all backgrounds for successful careers in risk-related fields.

Extensive Financial Support

Eligible sophomores and juniors in good standing receive $500 per year. Pell-eligible students get $2,000 their sophomore and junior years. In addition, the department offers a variety of other scholarships. We want to support you, so you can focus on school!

We’re Nationally Ranked

U.S. News & World Report ranked our B.B.A. in Risk Management & Insurance #3 in the nation in 2024. Our department is highly respected, too. We’ve been a Center of Actuarial Excellence for more than a decade. Plus, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln ranks us #3 in North America for research productivity in actuarial science.

You’ll Have Fun

In addition to earning a lot of money and making a huge difference at companies across countless sectors, risk management professionals have fun. The industry is ever-changing and involves a whole lot more than car insurance and bank portfolios. We’ll prepare you for extremely interesting opportunities in areas like InsurTech and cyber risk at companies that harness new technology to disrupt insurance pricing, processes and products.BBA
