CENTER FOR RESEARCH IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS
As partners of the information technology (IT) business community, our mission is:
- To promote Georgia as a leader in the management and use of IT and to attract new companies to Atlanta and the state
- To assist companies in their use of IT to create business value
- To provide educational programs to enhance the skills of companies’ IT workforce
- To conduct research that helps companies solve business problems
Recognizing the increasingly central and critical role that information systems play in public and private organizations, the Center for Research in Information Systems is dedicated to undertaking research that aids in our understanding of this phenomenon and explores ways whereby information systems can be used more effectively within organizations. Information systems and technology have near-universal application in such areas as national security, healthcare, retail, financial and insurance services, transportation and manufacturing.
Multi-disciplinary Participation
Because our research targets different business areas, the center promotes multi-disciplinary, cross-functional participation by faculty from not only the Department of Computer Information Systems but also throughout the college. The Center for Research in Computer Information Systems does not compete with but instead complements other research centers and institutes within the Robinson College of Business.
