The university’s Grade Appeal Policy requires students to first contact the instructor to first informally address the concern. Once you have discussed the grade with your instructor, and if you remain dissatisfied, contact your academic department chair to inquire about submitting a formal appeal. A student’s appeal will be granted only if the student can prove by preponderance of evidence that a decision was arbitrary, discriminatory, or inequitable.
The appeal must be submitted within 10 business days of the beginning of the academic term (fall, spring, or the 7-week summer term) that follows the term in which the final grade was submitted by the instructor.
