Program Overview

WomenLead is a three-credit, one-semester professional Signature Experience class held on Georgia State’s Atlanta campus. Students can choose one of several course sections, each of which is capped at 25 students. All sections use a common syllabus and are taught by faculty from various disciplines who bring their own lens of expertise to the classroom.

Through discussion panels and company site visits, students can learn what executive leadership entails and how the panel participants, including Georgia State alums, achieved their professional goals. During engagement interviews, students talk one-on-one with leaders and discuss the arc of their careers, the lessons they learned along the way, and the details of their specific industries and jobs. POWER Networking is another opportunity for students to engage with professionals in varying career fields through several rotations of online networking sessions where they can explore different careers, solicit advice, and gain new insights.

The class culminates with a presentation of each student’s Personal Leadership Strategy poster showcasing their leadership strategies in poster format, evaluated by faculty and community leaders.
